About Kyle
Kyle Porter is a golf writer for CBS Sports and the founder of Pistols Firing, and Oklahoma State sports website, which he sold in 2020.
He is the co-author of one book called Joy in the Sorrow, and his work has been featured at CBS Sports, NPR, Golf Channel, No Laying Up, Village Church and The Gospel Coalition.
Kyle currently serves as an elder at Mosaic Church of Richardson and is toying around with the idea of a second book. You can follow him on Twitter.
Joy in the Sorrow
Kyle’s first book was co-authored with Matt Chandler and other friends from The Village Church in Dallas, Texas.
The book is about where joy is found when darkness envelops us and we have nowhere else to turn. Kyle’s chapter specifically focuses on December 2015 when his daughter Kate passed away.
